Construction Manager
The Construction Manager at ABC Plumbing & HVAC is responsible for leading and overseeing all operational execution across the company. You will serve as the senior leader for all project execution and field operations, coordinating manpower, materials, schedules, and priorities across the organization. This role also plays a key leadership function in implementing and driving operational discipline through the company’s EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) framework.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with strong construction and project management experience who can both support the field and drive operational systems, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities and Duties
Operations and Field Execution Leadership
- Lead all plumbing, HVAC, and sheet metal projects, ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality, and on-schedule delivery aligned with scope and company standards.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, and resources, set operational priorities, and ensure teams execute tasks effectively.
- Act as the main escalation point for field issues, resolving challenges swiftly to maintain the schedule.
- Monitor progress, meet commitments to clients/GMs, and enforce high field standards for productivity, organization, and workmanship.
Financial Performance & Material Coordination
- Support Project Managers in optimizing labour performance, controlling job costs, and identifying risks or improvement opportunities to meet project profitability targets.
- Monitor operational metrics and field productivity trends.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Foremen, and Warehouse to align materials with schedules, resolve shortages, and plan deliveries and staging to minimize field downtime.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and industry standards
- Work with HR and leadership to maintain training records and certifications
- Support proactive risk identification and mitigation
Team Leadership & Development
- Directly supervise and hold Project Managers and Foremen accountable, while cultivating a team-oriented and disciplined operational environment.
- Coach field leaders to improve planning, communication, and job execution
- Support hiring decisions and workforce planning alongside HR and leadership
EOS & Operational Systems
- Lead implementation of EOS principles within the Operations function
- Participate in and contribute to L10 meetings and company scorecards
- Help drive accountability, measurables, and process consistency within operations
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with EOS structure
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience in mechanical construction, plumbing, or HVAC (required)
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, labour productivity, coordination, and construction sequencing
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive successful project execution
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence both field and office teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Working knowledge of safety standards, building codes, and industry best practices
- Experience with construction software, project management tools, and EOS or similar operating system is an asset

Responsibilities and Duties
- Complete all assigned jobs within scheduled timeframes, consistently meeting or exceeding project goals.
- Perform service, installation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance to company standards.
- Document completed work accurately and collect payment when required.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients to explain work, answer questions, and build trust.
- Maintain clean, organized workspaces — including vehicles, tools, equipment, and job sites.
- Mentor and support apprentices by providing hands-on training and guidance.
- Collaborate closely with office staff to ensure smooth scheduling, planning, and project coordination.
- Provide regular updates to the project coordinator and/or project manager on job status.
- Order, prepare, and manage materials needed throughout each project.
- Identify and report any project deficiencies or potential issues.
- Work efficiently and manage time effectively to maximize productivity.
- Safely operate all required tools, machines, and equipment.
- Apply local building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices to all work performed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 5 years of plumbing experience.
- Valid 306A Plumbing License.
- Strong problem‐solving skills and the ability to think critically on the job.
- Excellent communication and customer‐service skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to follow instructions, work well with others, and maintain professionalism.
- Experience using a wide range of power tools and manual equipment.
